Chakras

Here’s the script for my introduction to the chakras you may find interesting which includes a fun exercise to feel an energy ball…

I’m so excited to begin our mystical journey into the chakras together.  It’s time to improve your health and quality of life from the inside out, so let’s get on with it.

Chakras are spinning vortexes of energy located within your body, in your energy field.  I think it makes chakras easier to understand if you can relate them to the energy meridian lines that Chinese doctors and acupuncturists use. Our bodies are energy.  We are made up of pure energy.  Wise healers, doctors, naturopaths, shamans and other ancient wisdom practitioners have always been aware of our chakras and energy body.

Our chakras draw energy in and out.  They’re very receptive to our environment.  They’re very receptive to our emotions, to our thoughts, what we eat and drink and the whole of life in general.  Because of this, they can easily draw in negative energy from other people, from our limiting thoughts and frazzled emotions, from an unhealthy environment and especially from challenging events in our lives.  These situations can cause imprints, rather like memories that get lodged in the chakra and if not released can move on to create dis-ease in your body.  And if dis-ease isn’t addressed, stagnancy occurs which can lead to disease later on.

I began exploring the chakras about 19 years ago when I was studying spiritual healing in London.  I remember when I first began to feel the energy of the chakras.  I would get these strong sensations in the palm of my hand when I hovered over someone’s chakra.  Sometimes it was pins and needles, other times there would be intense heat or cold and sometimes I would suddenly get flashes of emotions or intuitive insight of difficult times that person had been through. So I was rather shocked to realise that I had been going through life not even aware that chakras existed and suddenly I was getting proof that they are actually there, present in my whole being.   Just because I couldn’t see them or they weren’t in any biology book didn’t mean they did’t exist.   It changed the way I treated my body and my whole self really.  And I certainly became more aware of my environment and how it was affecting me.  I began to consciously choose the type of energy I was immersing myself in every day, from who I sat next to on the train, the type of people I surrounded myself with and what negativity I was receiving every day from sources such as the news, TV or movies.  And this is what I want for you. I want to help you make informed healthy choices so you can raise your energy and improve your health & wellbeing.  I want vibrant health and wellbeing to become a natural way of life for you.

So today I’m going to help you begin to actually FEEL your chakras.  But before we do that I need to explain a little more.

There are 7 main chakras in the body and we will be focusing on these one at a time, over the coming weeks.

Here’s a chart showing the 7 major chakra points.

Root is red, sacral is orange, the solar plexus is yellow, the heart is green, the throat is blue, the third eye is indigo and the crown is violet.

So, now you have an idea of where they are, let’s see if you can begin to feel your chakras.

Rub your hands together for a few moments and then hold your hands very close together (almost touching), palms facing each other. Close your eyes and feel the energy in between your palms. Very slowly gradually increase the distance between your palms, feeling the energy. If you move your hands very slightly to and fro, you may feel as if you have a bubble or balloon in between your hands. You will feel a slight resistance or bounce. You will feel an energy ball in between the palms of your hands.

Do the same thing over your heart chakra whilst you think of joy or love (bring to mind a person, animal, or place in nature that you love).

Have fun practicing this week.  See what sensations you’re picking up – pins and needles, heat, cold, heavy energy, light energy.  You could journal what you’re feeling because these sensations can change from day to day, even minute to minute. So have fun exploring your chakras.  I’ll see you next week when we’ll begin with the root chakra.   Bye for now.

ROOT CHAKRA

The root chakra is about being grounded and connected to this beautiful planet we live on.  It’s called the root chakra because just like a tree, it acts as our roots that hold us in a secure place.  When this chakra is balanced we feel a sense of security and belonging.  It’s where you receive your nourishment from the earth.  It’s where you receive nourishment from the food that grows from the earth that keeps you living a healthy life, it’s where you receive nourishment from the unseen energy that comes up from the earth and fuels your body (think of the colour red symbolising fire – warming things up, activity, and action).  So anything you can do to connect with the earth will help balance your root chakra, boost your energy and improve your health.

If your root chakra is unbalanced you could feel tired all the time, feel a sense of insecurity or irritability, you could feel a bit flighty and ‘up in the air’, you could feel isolated, lonely or feel a sense of not belonging.  Panic attacks and anxiety are part of an unbalanced root chakra, as is feeling fearful of taking action to change your life in some way.  So if you’ve been wanting change in your life but you keep putting it off, or you’re finding it difficult to make decisions, or you’re not taking ACTION on your decisions, your root chakra could be unbalanced.

So here’s your action step for this week.  It’s a simple way to connect with your root chakra and start bringing it into balance…

If you can, do this exercise sitting under a tree, and preferably a tree where you can see its roots.  If you can’t sit under a tree, standing under one is fine too.  If you can’t get out into nature, you can do a visualisation, simply imagining that you’re sitting under a tree.

Make sure your feet are flat on the earth and it will be even more powerful if you can take your socks and shoes off as you can then receive healing energy from the earth (a technique known as ‘grounding’*).  Take some time to connect with the roots of the tree.  This is even better if you can actually see the roots.  Touch the base of the tree, touch the roots.  Notice the texture and the colours of the bark.  Does it feel strongly grounded and anchored in the earth?  Your root chakra is located at the base of your spine.  So now close your eyes and imagine roots growing out of the base of your spine and the soles of your feet into the earth.  Imagine your roots entwining with the roots of the tree.  The further down your roots grow, the thicker and stronger they become. Allow your roots to take you to a sacred place deep within the earth. What does it feel like there? What does it look like? What does it smell like? What colours or crystals are there for you? Take your time exploring. The images you get may be different each time as you will be given what you most need at that time. When you’re ready, breathe the earth energy up into your root chakra. Feel the earth energy building up there. Sit with that for a while and see the colour read spreading throughout that lower part of your body. See it circling out around you in a clockwise direction. Check that the colour is a bright red. If not, invite more earth energy into this part of your body until it changes to a vibrant red. You can then be open to receiving any messages from mother earth. What does she want to say to you? Do you have any questions about how you can be more balanced in your root chakra?.

Do this exercise every day if you can.  Even if you’re doing it in the morning or evening and you can’t get out to a tree, then create one day this week when you will practice this under a tree.  Take action now to decide when that day will be and what time.  Commit to it.

Enjoy connecting with your root chakra.  If you have any questions or want some support, please leave your comments in the chat section.

SACRAL CHAKRA

The sacral chakra is located in your lower abdomen about an inch below your belly button.  It’s colour is orange.  The sacral chakra is associated with nurturing, sensuality, sexuality and passion.  It’s connected to your womb and ovaries.  It governs your fertility and creativity.  It doesn’t matter if you have children or not, the fertility and creativity you express can be anything you decide you want it to be.  You can think of creativity as a four step process – firstly you need fertility which is being able to create a beautiful, healthy space for something new to develop, then there’s conception which is when you have an idea of what you want to create, then there’s the nurturing and developmental stage, which is where you build upon your idea, you begin forming it into shape, then there’s the birth as you release your creativity out into the world.

If your sacral chakra is unbalanced you could be holding back from your creativity, sexuality or sensuality.  This can occur if you’ve had some challenging experiences around these areas of life.  Are you feeling frustrated about not starting or finishing creative projects? Perhaps you feel your creativity is blocked in some way? Or perhaps you’ve had some difficult health issues connected with your womb and ovaries? Other imbalances can show up, such as being unable to nurture yourself or others – and by the way, it’s usually a difficulty nurturing yourself!  I can’t tell you how many people put themselves last and don’t invest in their health and wellbeing.  You can’t have a creative, fulfilling and healthy life if you don’t nurture yourself and invest in your own wellbeing.  Many of us grew up with the idea that thinking of yourself or looking after yourself is selfish.  How many times do you do something lovely for yourself and then feel guilty about it?  That guilt totally cancels out any nurturing you’ve done and undermines your self worth.  Stop it now!

So your action steps for this week are firstly to say an affirmation.  Say this affirmation with one hand on your sacral chakra…

“I am a beautiful soul with a beautiful body.  I regularly nurture myself and confidently embrace my sensuality and passion.  I find it easy to birth my creativity into the world with joy.  I am a beautiful soul with a beautiful body.”

Say this at night when you go to sleep or in the morning when you wake up – or even better, say it both those times, and even many times during the day too!  Whatever works for you, but commit to saying it at least once a day this whole week so you can begin to feel a difference.

You may also want to spend some time thinking through the four step process of creativity.  Where are you at the moment – fertility stage preparing to receive, the conception stage, coming up with an idea, the nurturing phase as you’re working on creating your creativity, bringing your project to life, or the birth phase – just about to launch your project into the world?  Is there anything holding you back on any of these levels? What seems to be getting in your way?

Enjoy your creativity and passion this week Gorgeous Goddess!

THE SOLAR PLEXUS

The solar plexus is located in the centre of your body in between your heart and belly button.  Its colour is yellow.

It’s associated with being able to keep healthy boundaries.  It’s your self empowerment and your will power.  It’s also where your gut instinct comes from.  Being a nutritionist I love this, because you may have heard that your gut is your second brain.

There’s what’s known as the ‘gut-brain axis’ where communication travels between the two.  So your brain can influence your gut and your gut can influence your brain.  Now this is a great thing but, do be aware that if your gut bacteria is out of balance in some way (which is very easy to do) and you’ve got an overgrowth of ‘bad’ bacteria, your ‘bad’ bacteria (which really is an overgrowth of a bacteria which leads to health issues. It’s not necessarily a ‘bad’ bacteria, as it can be a good bacteria, there’s just too much of it!) can send unhelpful messages to your brain.  One such example is a craving for sugar. Now I’m not going to go into detail on this subject here, but it just goes to show that your gut instinct can be very wise indeed!

The solar plexus also governs your ability to be able to trust yourself and to live your soul’s purpose.  It’s about taking action on your gut instincts.  So we talked about a fear of moving forward from the root chakra a few weeks ago.  If your root chakra is unbalanced you may not move forward in life and take action because you have a fear of instability or vulnerability.  The solar plexus on the other hand is more about listening to your gut instinct and moving forward trusting in yourself, trusting in your gut instincts.

So if your solar plexus is unbalanced, just think of the name – solar and the sun, and this will give you a clue.  Burn out!  If you seem to be constantly struggling to keep out negative energy from your life, or if you’re rushing around always doing stuff for other people because you just can’t seem to say “NO”, or you feel other people expect too much of you, then your personal boundaries probably need addressing.  If you feel like you’re always fighting to assert yourself, if you’re finding it difficult to listen to your gut instinct going to and fro not knowing which way to turn, not knowing what your soul’s purpose is, then all of this can indicate an imbalanced solar plexus.  And if it’s been going on for a while you’re probably already feeling burnt out because it’s incredibly exhausting trying to keep all of this together when you feel like you need to balance 10 plates on one finger!

So there are two things for you to do this week, firstly I have an affirmation for you.  I want you to say this affirmation like the last one, with your hand on your solar plexus.  Commit to saying it at least once a day, every day this week.  Here it is  “ I confidently stand in my power and self belief.  I respect myself and because of this I make healthy choices.  I easily hear the truth of my instincts and trust myself completely in following them.”

And the other thing you may want to do this week is to check how healthy your boundaries are OR NOT!  Are you always saying “Yes” to people and not getting the time you need for your own health and wellbeing?  Are you always struggling to keep out negativity?  Perhaps you always feel as if you have to assert yourself?  Just take notice on anything that’s coming up for you this week on your personal boundaries.

HEART CHAKRA

The heart chakra is located in the centre of your chest.  Its colour is green and/or a soft pink.

The heart chakra is the centre for our compassion and unconditional love.  It’s associated with warmth and a heart-felt connection to others.

Because this is where we feel a connection of love towards others, the heart chakra can easily become imbalanced through disappointment, hurt and loss.  We’ve all experienced heart break at some point in our lives to the point where the pain in the chest is actually physical.  The heart chakra can easily close down when we experience emotional hurt. If we’re not careful, a wall of protection can go up around it.

This wall of protection actually doesn’t protect us at all, in fact quite the reverse! When we have a wall of protection around our hearts it can prevent us from connecting with authenticity to someone else. We don’t get to show up as our true selves. In an emotional relationship this can be very disruptive because it can prevent a deepening of the relationship. This in turn taps into our triggers (feelings of not being good enough, of rejection, and whatever else we’re holding onto), and unless you AND your partner are emotionally intelligent and great communicators, those triggers will create upset and either an unhealthy relationship, or the end of the relationship. People can move from one disruptive relationship to the next, not understanding why these patterns keep repeating. In summary, holding back emotionally for fear of getting hurt, doesn’t work! You’re going to get hurt anyway, because you’re actually creating the situation to get hurt in the first place!

Now it doesn’t have to relate to just romantic relationships.  All sorts of scenarios can play out with friendships, family and colleagues. You need to be aware of when your heart chakra is closing down due to hurt and be ok with keeping it wide open and feeling the feelings. That way you will move through it a lot faster and have the opportunity to clear old patterns so you can shift out of repetitive experiences. Avoidance in its many forms will just create even more barriers around your heart damaging your health, wellbeing, and future relationships.

All of this can be exhausting and disheartening – Dis-HEART-ening.

I could talk about the effects these situations have on us for a long time because relationships with others and ourselves can be so complex, but other pointers of an imbalanced heart chakra are hiding yourself away from others, not ‘putting yourself out there’ in your business/work and social life, feelings of being a victim, and as if life has some personal vendetta against you – the “why me?” syndrome.

You may find yourself being judgemental, demanding or jealous, even though you hate that you’re feeling those things, and in fact you can’t even understand it because it’s so against your nature to have those ‘ugly’ emotions.  You can actually feel ashamed you’re feeling judgemental or jealous and so you push it back down.  Of course jealousy has always been seen as the “green eyed monster” and right there, RIGHT THERE is your connection to the green heart chakra.  The green eyed monster living in your green heart chakra.

So, let’s begin to bring your heart chakra into balance this week.

This is a simple visual exercise you can do in a couple of minutes.

You can do this visualisation anytime anywhere, but you must be able to have your full attention on it for a few moments, so please don’t do this when you’re driving, using sharp knives or anything like that!

It will help if you can have your legs uncrossed and your feet on the ground.  Firstly we’re going to connect with the root chakra because it’s important you feel safe, connected and supported when opening your heart chakra.  So all you’re going to do is imagine those roots growing out the soles of your feet into the ground, and a root growing out of the end of your spine into the earth too.

Really connect with the earth for a few moments, tuning in to how it feels, how it smells, and whether you get any other images. You may feel a subtle pull as you feel anchored to the earth.

Now I want you to breathe in, imagining you’re pulling earth energy up from your roots into your heart chakra. As you’re breathing in you’re pulling that beautiful earth energy up from the roots into your legs and up your body to your heart chakra.

Breathing up that beautiful earth energy.

Great.  Now let’s focus on the out breath…

As you breathe out let out a gentle sigh.

Now imagine that you are sighing out of your heart and as you do so a beautiful green or soft pink light expands out of your chest and around you.

Each time you breathe out and sigh, your green or pink light expands a little bit more and shines a bit more brightly.

All you’re doing is breathing up that earth energy into your heart chakra. Feel the energy build in your heart and then breathe out of your heart with a sigh as a beautiful green and/or pink light expands out around you. Take long deep breaths and make the exhale longer than your inhale.

So that’s it, it’s as simple as that.  This is something you can definitely do before you go to sleep and as soon as you wake up.  You could even try doing it as you’re falling asleep and see what dreams you have!

Enjoy that beautiful little exercise and please let me know how you get on.

THROAT CHAKRA

The throat chakra is located in the centre of your neck and it’s colour is blue.  It’s all about how you communicate and express yourself to the world.

The throat chakra is so important because it’s how we communicate our thoughts and feelings. It’s also about communicating our truth in a clear and soul-filled way.

So if you’re not communicating your truth OR if you can’t seem to put your truth into the right words, you can have very frustrating relationships and interactions with other people.  Plus if you can’t seem to express who you are, you can feel a lack of self confidence, you can feel lost, misunderstood and not heard.

The throat chakra is also about speaking up for yourself and others when faced with some opposition or misunderstanding.  So if you have a fear of standing your ground through communication, or you tend to keep quiet, when inside you’d really like to say something, then your throat chakra may be unbalanced.

Another indication of an unbalanced throat chakra is if you have to clear your throat a lot or have health issues in that area.

The throat chakra is strongly connected to the heart and the sacral chakras.  The heart chakra because this is your ability to express your feelings and create soulful connections where you can be understood.  And the sacral chakra for being able to speak out about your creativity – which is particularly important if you have anything to do with speaking your creativity, whether you’re a singer, you’re an entrepreneur communicating your business to the world, or you’re a writer, because writing is all about communicating your wisdom and truth.

The throat chakra can be strongly related to the solar plexus too, because to keep healthy boundaries, we sometimes have to say “no” to people and speak our truth.  A lot of people find it difficult to say “no” when someone asks for their help. Now, of course I’m not saying you have to say “no” all the time to people that ask for your help, it’s just those times when you’re totally depleted yourself, those times when YOU’RE actually in need of some help.  Which actually highlights the flip side of this which is, are YOU able to ask for help and support when YOU need it?

Here are some journalling questions for you…

HOW am I expressing myself to the world?

When do I feel misunderstood?

Do I prevent myself from speaking my truth and speaking my true feelings?

Am I able to say “No” when I have to?

Am I able to ask for support?

Perhaps choose one or two of these questions and take some time to feel into them this week.

Another action step you can take this week is saying an affirmation out aloud. And I mean ALOUD.  No being quiet with this one!  I want you to shout it from the rooftops!                         If you get worried that other people may hear, or if it feels uncomfortable for you to say this affirmation out aloud, then it’s most certainly indicating an imbalanced throat chakra!  So say it as loudly as you can and gradually build it up, getting louder and louder each time you say it.

Here’s your affirmation.

“It is safe for me to be heard. I am fully confident in speaking my truth and wisdom with love. What I have to say is valuable. I easily express myself with clarity and confidence”.

Say this affirmation every morning when you wake up, every evening when you go to bed, and as many other times during the day as you can.  And remember, you need to really belt this one out, no holding back Gorgeous Goddess – it’s time you were heard!

THIRD EYE

Today we’ll be exploring the third eye, the mystical centre for intuition and spiritual development.

Your third eye chakra is located on your forehead in between your eyebrows.  Its colour is indigo.  The third eye chakra is all about your intuition, psychic skills, attunement and imagination.  It acts as a gateway to the crown chakra which we’ll be discussing next. The third eye helps us integrate spiritual understanding into our lives.  It can take us on a deep inner journey to find our soul’s wisdom.

You could also see the third eye chakra as your inner guru, that wise instinctual part of you.  So connecting with your third eye is rather like visiting your inner guru and gaining spiritual wisdom that can lead you towards enlightenment.

It’s a part of ourselves that can easily be forgotten in today’s modern society.  I’m afraid a lot of people have completely lost touch with their intuition, the instinctual part of themselves that’s full of wisdom.  Being a natural nutritionist, I love to teach women how to listen to the wisdom of their bodies.

This is why I’m a Soul Wisdom Coach too.  I love blending my nutrition with my soul wisdom coaching.  This is my soul’s calling – empowering women to live healthier and happier lives.  Because once you’ve learned to listen to your soul’s wisdom, it’s so empowering, so freeing.

If your third eye is unbalanced you could feel stuck or lost, not being able to SEE where you’re heading in life.  Or perhaps you could be caught up in logic and reasoning – your thoughts like a cat chasing its tail, going round and round your head with the same fears and insecurities dragging you down. This can prevent you opening up to the magic in life, seeing the truth of situations, and missing new opportunities.  And of course you may feel you can’t trust your intuition, or may not even know how to connect with it.  And on a physical level you may experience a lot of headaches or migraines.

Now as I said, imagination is also the realm of the third eye.  I use imagination and story in my guided meditations because it opens you up to wonder and magic.  These magical feelings free you from the lower energies of the logical and mundane.  So this creates the perfect energy to help you access your intuition. I therefore thought a fun exercise using your imagination would be a perfect action step to help you connect with your third eye.

OK, here’s what we’re going to do.  I want you to close your eyes so your attention goes within.   Take your attention to your third eye, the space between your eyebrows.

Now create a beautiful sacred space.  This is your very own sacred space, somewhere you can retreat to for peace and healing.  You could create a place in nature, perhaps with a waterfall or by the sea or a  secret grove in some woods.  Perhaps you create a mystical place in a land of crystals or an enchanted forest full of fairies and unicorns.  Whatever makes you happy and peaceful.

Now somewhere in your sacred space is a big beautiful eye.  It may be represented by a statue or an image of some sort, perhaps a holographic image or an eye carved in stone or crystal.  This represents your third eye.

Now stand in front of your third eye image and say “I wish to connect with my third eye.  I wish to open up my intuition”.  Then imagine the image of the third eye opening.  Don’t worry if you can’t get a visual image of this, just imagining that this is happening is enough.  Whatever experience you’re having is right for you at this point in time.

Now standing in front of the image of your open third eye, ask “my third eye, my intuition, what do I need to be aware of right now?”

You can ask for some intuitive guidance on something in particular, such as asking for some insight into a particular situation. Or perhaps you’re having difficulty making a decision and you’d like to ask your intuition for some help.

Now spend some time in your sacred space.  The best way to prevent your logic from giving you an answer instead of your intuition is to let the question go.  Spend time enjoying your sacred space without looking for an answer.  Your intuition will answer you in some unusual way.  Perhaps you may suddenly get a visitor into your sacred space that has a message for you, perhaps a strange or unexpected image will pop into your space, just let your question go and enjoy being in your sacred space.  And don’t worry if nothing comes up, just enjoy the experience without expectations.  You may receive some guidance later on in the day, or in your dreams, or an answer will just pop straight into your life.

Do this visualisation whenever you like, but do try to do it, even for a few minutes every day for a little while, as this will strengthen your connection and open you up to receiving guidance.

CROWN CHAKRA

The crown chakra has it’s name because it sits like a crown on the top of your head pointing upwards.  The colour of this chakra is violet. Its symbol is the thousand petaled white lotus.  Because the lotus is white, the colour white can also be associated with the crown chakra as well as gold sometimes too.

As I mentioned last week, the third eye is the gateway to the crown chakra.  This is because the crown chakra is associated with reaching enlightenment and connecting with the divine, with universal wisdom.  The third eye therefore gives us our spiritual training so we can develop our intuition and spiritual wisdom enough that we can then reach these higher levels of consciousness.

The crown chakra is about letting go of our one-ness, letting go of our identity as something separate from the universe.  It’s knowing that you’re a part of the whole of creation, or rather that you’re not a ‘part’, you ARE the whole of creation.  So there’s no separation.

Because of this connection with the divine, the crown chakra connects us to universal love.  Connecting with this chakra can therefore give you a profound sense of complete and utter bliss and a love for everything and everyone!  And because you feel that deep connection to the universe it also brings a deep sense of peace.  Peace because you realise that everything is in divine order and you’re not solely concerned with your physical body or your everyday life – the crown chakra goes beyond all of that, it goes beyond the physical and operates on a high spiritual plane of existence.

Because the crown chakra is seen as an access to the divine, transcending your physical body, and at the opposite end of the body you have the root chakra grounding you to the earth and grounding you INTO your body, it’s important that you create a balance between the two.  I’m going to use the analogy of the tree again – your roots need to be planted firmly in the ground for your security and nourishment and your branches reach up to the sky seeking the light.

So when your crown chakra is unbalanced it can be due to an extreme imbalance of either crown chakra or root chakra issues.  So on one hand you could be too grounded, not open to spirituality and unable to see the divine, unable to see the sacred part of life.  Or you could be too spiritual, always seeking spiritual connections and wanting to be out of your body.  As I’ve worked in the spiritual field for many years I’ve seen a lot of this where people disregard the physical existence saying it doesn’t matter. They want to be living in the spiritual realm as much as possible. They can also find it difficult to take personal responsibility, and constantly look for direction and answers from spirit, completely handing over their personal power to the divine. This is not embracing what it means to be human, and is often an escapism.

Other imbalances can be depression, mental illnesses, and a sensitivity to light (just think of that tree reaching its branches towards the light), also poor sleep patterns and overly strong views on religion or spirituality to the point where you alienate others or believe your way is the only way.  This way of thinking and behaving separates others from you so that you don’t see them as belonging to the universal whole.

So, what can you do to keep your crown chakra balanced and to enhance your connection to the divine and universal love and peace?

I found it really difficult to choose something fun for you to do this week because I had so many ideas!  But as this is our last chakra I thought something a little different was in order.

So, this exercise involves four or five easy steps that you can do on different days.  All of these steps could just take a minute or two.  It’s totally up to you how much time, or how little time, you spend on your action steps. So you could spend a total of 8 minutes on this the whole week or you could really delve into your actions steps deciding to create a strong connection with your crown chakra.

Now as the crown chakra is all about our universal connection and seeing all of us and seeing the world and the universe being one, I thought some inspiring little action steps for connection would be perfect.  So, here we go…

Your four or five action steps are these:

  1. Do something lovely for a stranger
  2. Do something that cares for the health of our planet
  3. Do something that nurtures animals or wildlife
  4. Enjoy some moon bathing

and something extra you could do if you want to go deeper would be to

  1. Journal your thoughts and feelings

Now there’s just one stipulation, you must carry out each of these tasks with conscious love and conscious connection.  In other words recognise that you are one with the stranger, recognise you are one with the planet and you are one with the animals, and recognise that you are one with the moon and the universe.  And as you take these action steps connect with unconditional love right at the moment you’re carrying them out.

So, to explain your action steps a little more and give you some ideas…. doing something for a stranger could be giving a homeless person some nourishing food, or doing the pay it forward method and buy a coffee for the person behind you in the queue.  But it doesn’t have to cost any money at all, you could help a struggling older person lift their heavy shopping into their car or even just spread big beautiful smiles to everyone you meet one day or tell a stranger how lovely they look.  Perhaps there’s something in your community you can offer your time for.

Some ideas for doing something for the planet could be to donate some money to an environmental cause, do more recycling, or start using more environmentally friendly household products.

To do something that nurtures animals or wildlife, once again you could make a donation to a wildlife fund or an animal shelter near you or if you do have an animal shelter near you you could donate some of your time instead of money and go and walk a dog or perhaps you could decide to only eat happy meat or happy eggs from organic free range farming, not only would this be compassionate towards animals but it would also improve your health too.

And as for moon bathing, create some time one evening where you can stand under the moon or sit indoors and watch it through the window.  Take this time to sit in silence, connecting with the vastness of the universe, and feeling the calming and peaceful energy of the moon.  You could do this as a form of meditation to just be in silence – not allowing your thoughts to take you off anywhere, or if you find it difficult to quieten your monkey mind you could think about your connection to the universe, universal love and connection as a whole.

And as I said if you want to take this further to gain some deeper insight, you could journal any thoughts or feelings that come up for you during the week as you take your action steps. How do you feel connected to the Divine? How would you like to connect to your spirit guides and angels? Are you interested in finding out more about the quantum field and the art of surrender (check out books by Bruce Lipton and Michael Singer)?

OK, that’s it. I’m really looking forward to hearing your chakra stories, so please do get in touch.

With love,

Sally
