I’ve come across an article I highlighted to read a long time ago, and of course it’s beautifully timed that it rose up for me to see now (when I was busy looking for a restaurant – there’s our food connection again!).

I’ve only read the very beginning, but it has been a good read so far, so I thought I would share it with you.

I talked about the red tent and the dark moon in my Moon Medicine for Menopause course recently that some of you were present at. This was a very powerful time when our ancient feminine ancestors would bleed into the earth (nourishing the earth in return), connecting with their intuition and receiving divine spirit guidance.

I will talk about the dark moon at our next session. It’s a very powerful moon phase that’s often overlooked and there’s a reason I chose our Sacred Circle gatherings to be on a Tuesday closest to the dark moon.

Anyway, here’s a link to the article on “Reviving the Ancient Sisterhood”: https://uplift.love/reviving-the-ancient-sisterhood/

I would love to hear what arises for you as you read this. Reply to this message so we can keep this part of the conversation going in one place.

      Love,

      Sally

After thoroughly enjoying our chat.  I started to do a bit of research on how to communicate with our ancestors and came across this video, which I think you will all enjoy its 10 minutes and it completely resonated with me on our discussions.

Thanks for posting that video Frankie. A few things I loved about it…

        1.  The work we do on ourselves ripples out. I believe the work we do on ourselves also connects us back to our ancestors and helps heal their wounds too (as well as rippling out to the present and future). We are all connected, eternally.

        2. I used to have an altar in my home. For many years I created an altar, changing it to reflect what I wanted/felt called to honour, and to also support what I was going through at the time. Who is interested in discussing how to create an altar at home? Is this something you would like me to do a Q&A session on?

        3.  We are becoming ancestors. I love this! It is our responsibility to heal our wounds and live with full authenticity, so we can leave behind our wisdom for others to build upon. In this time of crumbling patriarchy to show up differently as empowered women – embodying our feminine power (which we will be moving on to discuss what this looks like soon!) – so we can be part of a transformation into a more balanced and healthy society.

Frankie – I loved that video.  Thanks for sharing.  I always feel like I should be doing something, but the takeaway I got was to stop and do nothing.  Just pause and breathe and be.

Also want to share I am listening to Hagitude by Sharon Blackie and find her writing just what I needed to hear.  Thank you Rose for the recommendation.

I shared in our circle words my mom spilled on me, but I realize I have the choice to let them go.  I can only guess at her upbringing which brought forth the negativity.  But in the overall picture, my mom was a beautiful, strong and loving woman. Something I heard either from the video or Hagitude is that we as women need to stand together, not let these petty inconveniences and envies create cracks in our amazing sisterhood.  We can still bicker and fight as sisters do, but in a way that strengthens the bonds rather than put cracks in it.

If the link does not work, search Women and Spirituality: The Goddess Trilogy in YouTube.  There are 3 movies by Donna Reed from 1989 but still relevant now. Goes well with our discussion on connecting with the ancient sisterhood.

“Women and Spirituality is Donna Read’s definitive series that explores the power of the sacred feminine in mythological, historical and cultural contexts. This trilogy investigates the relationship between women and spirituality from ancient times to the present.”

Thanks so much for the link to those videos Monique. The link works if you copy and paste. I will watch them this week.

Yes, we women do need to stand together now and unite. This is one of the many reasons for starting this circle. I hope it provides a sacred space we can let go and be our true selves, heal, progress, be empowered, and create some beautiful bonds…

And yes, you can let those words go that you inherited from your mother. Sometimes they live deep within our subconscious and unknowingly they affect how we react to, and show up, in life. This is why I’m so excited to be training as a hypnotherapist.

Thanks for sharing all of this Monique. x
