Hello lovely ladies. How is everyone?
Knitting update – https://www.ravelry.com/projects/MoniqueAimeeR/sea-haven (not sure if link works) I love watching the pattern develop as I add more rows. Knitting is very relaxing, quieting, and gives me something to do with my hands.
Spring is on the cusp of bursting. The anticipation is palpable. Tree branches which previously looked “dead” have buds ready to display their amazing colors. Some plants have already popped open in the early Spring colors of yellow, lilac, periwinkle blue, and a green that is more yellow than green. I love witnessing this display of vibrancy.
On a hike Sunday, I saw two eagles and a hawk soaring through the sky. The contrast in their sizes was amazing. The hawk looked tiny near the eagles. I see a hawk often in my travels, whether by foot hiking or driving somewhere. On this same hike I saw the moon in her crescent presence which looks like a nail clipping. Seeing the sun and moon at the same time of day is magical.
I feel hawk is my spirit animal. This meaning of hawk as spirit animal resonates with me: “Hawk symbolism is said to relate to higher consciousness. Hawk’s meaning represents awareness and enlightenment. This bird symbolizes the ability to observe deeper meaning in ordinary everyday experiences. This spirit animal urges you to free yourself from limiting beliefs and gain a higher perspective so that you can soar high in life.”
Been feeling sleepy this past week. Changing seasons, especially Spring and Autumn, do this to me. Making the most of this with naps. Favorite spot is with my cats on the kitchen floor with the sun shining on us.
May your days be filled with marvels and magic and awe.
Love to all

Hi Monique
Thanks for checking in with us, it’s so wonderful to hear from you.
Unfortunately the link you shared asks me to sign up as a member to view your files so I didn’t get to see your progress. I can imagine it’s looking amazing though! I love that you find it so relaxing. It’s a form of meditation isn’t it? I wonder if any inspiration comes through to you during these times or whether it’s solely a time to be present?
OMG, I can’t wait to experience Spring. We’ve had A LOT of dull rainy cold days here so far, with the exception of a warm sunny day a earlier in the week which was a cruel tease! 🤣 My little magnolia tree has started to bud out though and I anticipate the flowers blooming in a few days time which will be wonderful. They always remind me of my father because they had a large magnolia tree in their garden and I remember it was in full bloom when he died.
I love hawks too. Their cry is so soulful, wild and mystical. I used to hear them a lot when I lived in Hood River. I see them here often but haven’t heard their cries.
This brings me to reflect on spirit animals. For many years my spirit animal has been the wolf. I haven’t connected with that energy for a while now and would love to revisit their energy to see if they are still with me or if it’s time for a new spirit animal now I’m in a new phase of my life. Perhaps this would be a good topic for one of our meetings? Let me know what you think lovely ladies.
I love that you get to nap on the kitchen floor with your cats as the sun warms you. A very cat like thing to do!
Everything is going well for me. I’m having to surrender to some things taking more time than I would ideally like (putting together my online course and the work on my house), however other areas of my life are falling into place nicely, so I suppose those are the areas which are needing more attention right now!
Sending love to you all.
Sally
